CALIFORNIA REDWOOD CHORALE
The California Redwood Chorale was founded in 2006 by soprano, Gerry Schultz. We are a mixed chorus of singers from the North Bay. We thrive on the exciting combination of singing and traveling. Our first trip was to Hungary in 2007. In the summer of 2008, we traveled to Canada to participate in the International Choral Kathaumixw. We made a return to trip to Hungary in the summer of 2010, singing Kodaly’s “Missa Brevis” in Budapest with the great Monteverdi Chorus of Budapest. Our next trip will be to Verona, Italy in April
Robert Hazelrigg - Conductor
Robert Hazelrigg became the director of the California Redwood Chorale in the fall of 2010. Robert has his BA in Piano Performance from Cal State University of Hayward. He has accompanied for Redwood Empire Lyric Theater, Northern California Chamber Chorale, Santa Rosa Symphonic Chorus, Opera of the Redwoods, Santa Rosa Community College, Sonoma State University workshops. Robert plays for a number of teachers and students for various recitals and competitions. He has been involved in Conducting workshops and lessons with William Lock, Loren Wiebe and Tom Fettke. Robert also attended Biola University in La Mirada, CA where he was a trombone major initially. He currently teaches piano in his studio and coaches a number of students privately in the vocal/theater arts in Santa Rosa, California.
