Regolamento

Il Concorso Internazionale Pianistico "Premio Mauro Paolo Monopoli"
è dedicato al giovane pianista Mauro Paolo Monopoli
(Barletta 19 - 7 - 1975 Genova 3 - 8 - 1996)
Alta figura d'artista, di raffinata sensibilità, brillante, entusiasta e con un temperamento sempre cordiale, pur colpito da una incurabile leucemia, continuò strenuamente lo studio del pianoforte fino al termine della sua breve esistenza, risultando vincitore di vari Concorsi Pianistici e raccogliendo entusiastici successi nei vari recital tenuti, grazie a un inimitabile gusto del suono e del fraseggio e a un perfetto dominio dei mezzi tecnici ed espressivi.

REGOLAMENTO

1) Bando di Concorso
Il 26° Concorso Internazionale Pianistico "Premio Mauro Paolo Monopoli", organizzato dall’Associazione Musicale "Cultura e Musica - G. Curci" di Barletta, in collaborazione e col patrocinio dell’Amministrazione Comunale di Barletta, del Ministero della Cultura – Direzione Generale dello Spettacolo e della Regione Puglia, si svolgerà dal 10 al 14 maggio 2023 nel Teatro Comunale Curci di Barletta - Italia. Il Concorso è aperto a pianisti di ogni nazionalità nati dopo il 1° gennaio 1987 e non oltre il 1° gennaio 2007.

2) Finalità
Il Concorso Internazionale Pianistico "Premio Mauro Paolo Monopoli" si propone di sviluppare la cultura pianistica in tutto il mondo, fornendo la possibilità ai giovani pianisti di confrontare il loro pensiero musicale e di avviare una carriera musicale professionale.

3) Programma di esecuzione
I Concorrenti dovranno eseguire il seguente programma, secondo il seguente calendario provvisorio:

Prima Prova (10 - 11 maggio 2023)
Programma a libera scelta, di durata non superiore a 30 min. e non inferiore a 25 min.

Semifinale - Recital Pianistico (11 - 12 maggio 2023)
Un Recital Pianistico a libera scelta, di durata non superiore a 50 min. e non inferiore a 45 min.
I Brani eseguiti nella Prima Prova possono essere inclusi nel recital.

Finale - Concerto per Pianoforte e Orchestra (14 maggio 2023)
I Concorrenti eseguiranno, con l’Orchestra Soundiff – Diffrazioni Sonore, uno dei seguenti Concerti :

Tutti i Brani previsti nel Concorso dovranno essere eseguiti a memoria e nella loro interezza, qualora non sia
differentemente richiesto dalla Giuria. Le esecuzioni che oltrepasseranno il tempo specificato potranno essere interrotte dai Giurati. L' ordine di esecuzione dei brani nelle prove è lasciato alla discrezione dei concorrenti. I Concorrenti dovranno consegnare alla Giuria copia di ogni brano nell'Edizione che essi eseguiranno. Essi dovranno altresì mostrare il loro passaporto o carta d'identità prima della loro prima prova.

4) Calendario - Appello dei Concorrenti
Tutti i partecipanti devono essere presenti presso il Teatro Curci di Barletta per l'appello alle ore 9,30 del 10 maggio 2023. L'ordine di partecipazione e il Calendario definitivo sarà stabilito con estrazione dei nomi, immediatamente dopo l'appello. Gli assenti non saranno ammessi alle prove.

5) Giuria e Valutazione
La Giuria sarà formata da rinomati musicisti italiani e stranieri. Non possono far parte della Giuria maestri che abbiano avuto rapporti didattici con i partecipanti nei due anni precedenti il Concorso o che abbiano rapporti di parentela fino al terzo grado con gli stessi. La Prima Prova sarà valutata con un "Sì" o con un "No".
Non più di 8 concorrenti potranno accedere alla Semifinale e non più di 3 saranno ammessi alla Finale.
Per la Semifinale e la Finale la Giuria procederà ad una votazione segreta in centesimi, con media aritmetica ed esclusione del punteggio più alto e più basso. Il Presidente ha la facoltà di arrotondare i punteggi. Passeranno alla Finale i tre concorrenti che otterranno il punteggio più alto.
Fra i partecipanti alla Finale, i Premi verranno assegnati secondo l’ordine del punteggio conseguito. In ogni caso, il Primo Premio Assoluto è indivisibile e sarà assegnato al concorrente che otterrà il punteggio più alto non inferiore a 98/100; il 2° Premio a chi otterrà un punteggio di almeno 94 /100 e il 3° Premio a chi otterrà un punteggio ancora inferiore.
Tutti i Premi in denaro saranno assegnati durante la Cerimonia di Premiazione del 14 maggio 2023 presso il Teatro Curci, alla quale sono tenuti a partecipare i vincitori, pena la perdita del Premio.
Al termine di ogni prova i risultati saranno resi pubblici.

6) Premi
1° Premio Assoluto: Medaglia, Diploma, 10.000 Euro per la copertura di tutte le spese per un Progetto di un tour di 6 Concerti ( da confermare) offerto da:

"Progetto realizzato con i fondi dell'ex art.7 L.93/92"

e 2.000 Euro offerti dalla Buzzi Unicem – Stabilimento di Barletta.
2° Premio: 1500 Euro offerto dalla Fondazione Megamark - Onlus Medaglia e Diploma
3° Premio: 1000 Euro Medaglia e Diploma

‘Audience Special Prize’ di 400 Euro e Diploma al pianista che otterrà il maggior numero di preferenze dal pubblico presente alla Serata Finale nel Teatro Curci per la realizzazione di 1 Concerto con l’Orchestra Soundiff – Diffrazioni Sonore offerto dalla prof.ssa M. Rita Lamonaca.

‘Young Artist Special Concert Prizes’: due Premi di 500 Euro, dedicati alla memoria di Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, offerti dal m° ing. Luca Dimiccoli assegnati ai due più giovani concorrenti semifinalisti, che otterranno un punteggio non inferiore a 85/100.

Per tutti gli ammessi alla Semifinale, non vincitori di altri Premi :
Diploma di Semifinalista e Borsa di Studio di 200 euro offerti dalla Buzzi Unicem
Per tutti gli altri partecipanti: Diploma di Partecipazione
Ogni Premio sarà soggetto a ritenuta fiscale di legge.
Tutti i premi saranno pagati entro 1 mese dalla fine del Concorso con bonifico bancario.
La Direzione Artistica si riserva di assegnare ulteriori Concerti-Premio per la Stagione Musicale 2024.

8) Copyright
Per ogni esecuzione effettuata durante il Concorso e/o durante il Concerto dei vincitori organizzato
dall'Associazione Cultura e Musica - G. Curci, l'Associazione si riserva il diritto esclusivo di:

- Trasmissione via televisione, radio e/o internet.
- Registrazione, sia in caso di trasmissione sia in caso contrario.
- Registrazione, riproduzione e/o vendita via CD, cassetta, disco, etc.
- Ripresa di Foto e /o Video e Riproduzione, Distribuzione e/o Vendita di tali Foto e Video.

Nessun compenso potrà essere preteso dai concorrenti per tali utilizzi.

9) Regole Finali.
L'iscrizione al Concorso implica l'incondizionata accettazione del presente Regolamento.
Per ogni controversia è competente il Tribunale di Trani.
Per qualsiasi disputa che insorga, farà fede il testo italiano originale e la Legge italiana.

The International Piano Competition "Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize"
is dedicated to the young pianist Mauro Paolo Monopoli
(Barletta 19 - 7 - 1975 Genoa 3 - 8 - 1996)
High artistic figure, with a refined sensitivity, bright, enthusiastic and of cheerful and friendly disposition, even though he was injured by an incurable leukaemia, he courageously kept on with piano studies all his life. He won several Piano Competitions and obtained enthusiastic professional qualifications during his piano recitals, thanks to an incomparable sound and phrasing and for a perfect control of piano technique and an extraordinary feeling.

RULES

1) Announcement
The 26th International Piano Competition "Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize", organized by the “Cultura e Musica - Giuseppe Curci" Music Association and sponsored by the the Barletta Town Administration, the Ministry of Culture - Music Department and the Apulia Region, will take place from 10th to 14th May, 2023 in the Curci Theater, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, 71 - Barletta - Italy. The Competition is open to pianists of all nationalities born after 1st January 1987 and not later than 1st January 2007.

2) Purpose
The International Piano Competition "Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize" try to increase the piano culture all around the world, giving a chance to the young pianists for comparing their musical thinking and for starting a professional musician career.

3) Repertory
Candidates must play the following pieces, with the following provisional timetable:

First Stage (May 10 - 11, 2023)
A programme of your choice, no longer than 30 min. and not less than 25 min. in duration.

Semi Final Stage - Piano Recital (May 11 - 12, 2023)
A piano recital of your choice, no longer than 50 min. and not less than 45 min. in duration.
Works performed in the First Stage may be included in the recital.

Final Stage - Piano Concerto (May 14, 2023)
Contestants will play one of the following concertos with the Soundiff – Diffrazioni Sonore Orchestra:

All works in the competition must be performed from memory and must be performed in their entirety
if it is not otherwise specified by the Jury. Performances, which exceed the specified time limit, may be interrupted by the Judges. The playing order of the works is left to the contestant’s discretion. The contestants must give to the Jury a copy of each piece of the Editions they will play. They must show their passport or identity card before their first stage.

4) Schedule - Candidate Roll Call
All the candidates must be present in the Curci Theatre - Barletta for the roll call at 9.30 a.m. on May 10, 2023. The order of participation will be decided with a draw, immediately after the roll call. The absent will be not admitted to the Competition.

5) Jury and Evaluation
The Jury will be composed of well-known national and international musicians. If a member of the Jury had teaching relations during the last two years, or relationship (until the third degree of kinship), he can’t take part in the Jury. "Yes" or " No" will judge the First Stage.Not more than 8 contestants can pass to the Semi Final Stage and not more than 3 contestants to the Final Stage. For the Semifinal Stage and the Final Stage, the Jury will make a secret centesimal voting with arithmetic mean and with the exclusion of the lowest and highest scores. The President may round the results up or down. Pass to the Final Stage the three contestants which will get the highest score. The Prizes will be awarded to the Finalists following the order of score they will get. The Absolute First Indivisible Prize, in any case, will be awarded to the candidate who will get the highest score and not less than 98/100; the 2nd to the Finalist who will get not less than 94/100 and the 3rd to the Finalist who will get less point.
All the cash prize winners must be present to the Final Award Ceremony on May 14, 2023 in the Curci Theater; otherwise they will lose the cash Prizes.

6) Prizes
1st Absolute Prize: Medal, Diploma, 10.000 Euros for covering all the expenses for a Project of a Tour of 6 Concerts (to be confirmed) offered by:

"Progetto realizzato con i fondi dell'ex art.7 L.93/92"

and 2.000 Euros offered by Buzzi Unicem – Barletta Factory
2nd Prize: 1.500 Euros, offered by Megamark Onlus Foundation, Medal and Diploma
3rd Prize: 1.000 Euros, Medal and Diploma

Special Prize “Audience Prize” of 400 Euros for the finalist who will get more votes from the audience for the Final Concert in the Curci Theatre offered by prof. M. Rita Lamonaca for a Concerto with Soundiff- Diffrazioni Sonore Orchestra.

Special Prizes ‘Young Artist Concert Prizes’ offered by prof. ing.Luca Dimiccoli : two Prizes of 500 Euro,
dedicated to the memory of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, assigned to the two youngest contestants, who will reach the Semifinal Stage and will gain a score not lower than 85/100.

For each contestant who will pass to the Semi Final Stage, and will not get other Prizes:
Semifinalist Diploma and 200 Euros offered by Buzzi Unicem
To all the other participants: Participation Diploma
Each prize will have the tax deduction at source.
All the money Prizes will be paid not later than 1 month from the end of the Competition by Bank Transfer.
The Artistic Direction reserves the right to assign additional 4 Concerts-Prizes for the 2024 Musical Season

8) Copyright
For any performances that take place during the Competition or during the prize winners concerts held by the Organizer, the Organizer reserves the right to:

- Broadcast it via television, radio, or Internet.
- Record it, irrespective of whether the recording will be broadcast or not.
- Record, reproduce or sell it via CD, tape, record etc.
- Take photos or a video and then reproduce, distribute or sell these photos or videos.

No payment can be required from the contestants for this utilization.

9) Final Rules
The enrolment to the Competition entails the unconditional acceptance of the present Regulations.
For any controversy the Trani court is competent.
Any disputes that arise due to this outline will be resolved according to the original Italian text and
Italian Law.

Il Concorso è aperto a pianisti concertisti nati dopo il 1° gennaio 1987 e non oltre il 1° gennaio 2007. 

Il termine per le iscrizioni è stato fissato al 27 aprile 2023.
Non è prevista nessuna quota di partecipazione al Concorso.
