CELLISSIMO Academy Budapest Masterclasses

Masterclasses for violin, cello, piano and chamber music

The Masterclasses includes five individual lessons for the participants during the CELLISSIMO Academy. Course materials: – solo, – chamber music and orchestral music literature at the choice of the participants. Students can choose freely to study a certain repertoire with the professors of the Academy.
Two concerts for the students will be held during Masterclasses.

Registration / Requirement

The Masterclasses are open to young students and talented young musicians of all nationalities, but we also welcome amateur musicians and chamber ensembles.

Students enrolled in the CELLISSIMO Academy Budapest Mastersclasses can receive five private lessons from internationally renowned musicians and play concerts with their colleagues and professors. All this at a reasonable price with extra courses.
Recommended minimum age: 15 years. Participants who are under 18 must have their forms signed by a parent or legal guardian. An email confirmation will be sent within three days of receiving the application.

Active participants of the Masterclasses can participate in chamber ensembles based on judgments of the submitted biographies, compiled and conducted by a professor teaching at the CELLISSIMO Academy, and have the opportunity to perform at the CELLISSIMO Academy Concerts as well and free entry to the Academy’s concerts.

Course fees / Payment at the latest until 7 October 2020

• Course fee: violin, cello and piano: € 520 registration fee included, the chamber music ensembles course fee is equal to the instrumental course fee .
• Registration Fee: € 120 The registration fee is non-refundable, but will be included in the course fee upon participation.
• Extra instrumental lessons: 80 € / hour
• Participation fee for passive students for the whole masterclasses: € 50

Scholarships and grants

We are thankful for the public and private donors of the CELLISSIMO Academy for sponsoring the masterclasses. Under certain social circumstances, we are happy to provide scholarships with support for part of the registration fee and / or course fee. Fellowship applications, including letters of recommendation from two internationally recognized artists, must be submitted by October 7, 2020 at the latest.

The Masterclasses include

• Personal trainings, including piano accompaniment.
• Special preparations for orchestra auditions / orchestra audition simulations
• Free admission for the family members for the concerts and Masterclassses at the CELLISSIMO Academy.

Chamber music

• Chamber music masterclasses for pianists and strings or ensembles.

The ensembles are formed by Cellissimo Academy professors before or at the commencement/ during of the masterclasses.

Refund in case of cancellation of the Masterclass

• Cancellation October 22-29, 2020 the registration fee will not be refunded and the course fee will be refundable only if the professor has chosen a substitute participant.
• Requests for Refunds must be sent by email to the CELLISSIMO Academy (22 October, 2020). Otherwise, the right to a refund will cease.

Application Requirements

Filling in the application form, filling in the requested documents and paying the course fee. Payment documents should be sent to cellissimoacademy@gmail.com by October 7, 2020.

Upon receiving the letter of acceptance (by email), applicants are required to transfer the entire course fee within two weeks to secure their place, and by 7 October 2020 at the latest.

• Short CV in English / Hungarian
• Repertoire list in English / Hungarian

• Please note that the bank charges for the transfer are borne by the participant.

Travel and Accommodation

Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodations. Upon request, the office of the CELLISSIMO Academy can send recommendations for accommodations in Budapest. Students must book directly with the hotels or apartments.
