Luciano ACOCELLA

Born in Rome in 1961, conductor Luciano Acocella studied at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia and refined his training with leading maestros across Europe. Prizewinner at the Prokofiev and Dimitri Mitropoulos Conducting Competitions in 1996, he has conducted internationally in Europe, Asia, and the United States, appearing with renowned orchestras including the Orchestre National de France, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and the Tokyo Philharmonic. Former Music Director of the Opéra de Rouen Normandie, he has taught orchestral conducting in Bologna since 1999 and currently teaches at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana and Teatro Comunale di Bologna’s Scuola dell’Opera Italiana.
